(Condensed from How to be a Great Camp Counselor)
- If camp is for the camper, your social life comes SECOND to time spent with the kids.
- If food runs short in the dining hall, you are the one to go without. Let the campers get seconds or desserts before you do.
- If the campers are lined up, you are last in line.
- If there is a fun activity going on, your job is to see that everyone in your cabin has a blast.
- If there is a contest, step aside and let all the campers compete, even if it means your cabin may lose.
- When meals are over, don’t stay to talk with other staff, move out with your campers.
Remember, Why are you at camp, anyway?
The answer: to be with the kids.
