We make hiring decisions carefully and we do not guarantee any applicant a spot at camp, whether you are new or have volunteered with us previously. To be considered, summer camp volunteers must meet these requirements:
Counselor-in-Training (CIT) positions (Kids Week and Day Camp / Hobé Juniors ONLY)

- Be 16 to 18 years old

- Submit an online application. (please select the New Camp Volunteer position if you have never volunteered with us; select the Returning Camp Volunteer position if you have volunteered with us before.)

- If you will be 18 years old by March 9 of this year, submit the background check screening information and disclosure here

- Complete an interview

- Participate in staff training
Counselor or Staff positions for any session (also includes Kitchen staff, Medical staff)

- Be at least 21 years old for Teen Week and at least 19 years old for Kids Week, Day Camp / Hobé Juniors, or Virtual Camp

- Submit an online application. (please select the New Camp Volunteer position if you have never volunteered with us or you volunteered with us more than 2 year ago; select the Returning Camp Volunteer position if you have volunteered with us in the last 2 years.)

- Complete an interview

- Be a CIT for at least one year if you came to Camp Hobé last year as a camper

- Participate in staff training

- Pass a criminal background check
Please complete the online application for all roles by April 1.
Applications must be completed by the applicant (not by a parent, relative, friend, or significant other). Once we receive your application, an interview will be scheduled during the month of April (returning volunteer interviews may be conducted in January / February) – interviews are typically conducted on evenings or weekends. Volunteer training is conducted during May and on site prior to the camp session.
