MISSION STATEMENT
Camp Hobé is a special summer camp experience designed expressly
for children currently undergoing treatment for cancer as well as
their siblings. Our goal is to create an atmosphere that enhances
self-esteem, fosters independence and friendships, and creates a feeling
of belonging.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current Licensure as a Licensed Practical
Nurse
Experience in pediatric oncology preferred
Current CPR certification & ARC
advanced first aid preferred
Provide professional liability insurance
Current ALS certification
preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate as a part of the Camp Medical
Staff under supervision of an RN, NP, PA, or MD
Provide health
screening for staff & campers during check-in
Dispense medications
Participate in medical record keeping
Help manage daily sick call
Organize infirmary
Administer first aid when necessary
Assist camp physician as needed
Attend pre-camp training
Assist in medical inventory before leaving
the campsite
Complete camp evaluation
Ensure that all accidents or medical illnesses
are immediately reported to the Camp Director
Ensure that the
Camp Director is notified immediately when additional medical
assistance is required (i.e., before leaving the campsite)
Ensure
that the Camp Director is informed immediately when the emergency
contact must be reached for a camper or staff member
